Can WordPress Multisite Installations Be Set Up On WPX Hosting?
Yes they can and we already run a number of WP Multisite installations on WPX:
WP Multisite installations are governed by the same limits as any normal site or account hosted on WPX.
Importantly, subdomains created within a WP Multisite installation do NOT count against the number of available website slots in a WPX account BUT normal non-Multisite subdomains DO count against the 5, 15 or 35 website slot allocation for each package.
When installing Multisite on our hosting, the particular websites for use must be configured in the hosting in order to support it.
You can enable your website to support a Multisite installation with a few simple steps via your hosting panel.
First, you must to go to your hosting panel, which you can do via our website -> "My Services" -> "WordPress Hosting" -> "Manage all sites in this account".
When following the steps, you will be taken directly in the "Service Details" section of your hosting panel.
In the left menu of your hosting panel, you need to choose "Websites/SSL". That will take you to the section where you can manage your websites. Then navigate to the right side of each website name, you'll see the "Settings" option.
Once chosen, that will open a pop-up where you can enable Multisite.
You would have to choose the first tab which says "Domain". You should be taken there automatically.
All you have to do is tick/enable the option which says "Multisite WP install" and then click "Save changes". That's it!
